Issue #1 - Cover intermittingly stopping (< 1 month old)

  • poll cover specialists broken silder

Details

Cover intermittently stopping while opening or closing. Sometimes taking up to 15 minutes of repeated attempts to get it to fully move. In some cases we gave up trying and were unable to open/close the cover.

Response

Pool Cover Specialists took over 3 weeks before they came out. Pool Cover Specialists stated that they shut down and do not perform any service for a full two weeks during Christmas time.

Issue #2 - Broken Switch (3 months old)

Details

Key switch used to open close the cover completely stopped working. Pool cover stuck in open position presenting a safety issue to our small children.

Response

Switch replaced by Pool Cover Specialists.

Issue #3 - Broken slider (7 months old)

  • poll cover specialists broken silder

Details

KeyBlack plastic slider completely broken, causing aluminum bar to drag on ground while opening closing. Also caused webbing to begin to tear apart.

Response

Pool Cover Specialists initially refused. Then, agreed to pay for parts, but not labor. Then, only after threatening lawsuit, finally agreed to repair.

Issue #4 - Grinding Noise in track (8 months old)

Details

Loud grinding/squealing noise from end of track in pulley system while opening/closing. Cover not closing smoothly.

Response

Switch replaced by Pool Cover Specialists.

Issue #5 - Disengaged motor (11 months old)

Details

Clicking sound when motor on, but cover not moving. Sometimes took up to 20 minutes of opening/closing the cover to finally get it to shut.

Response

Repaired by Pool Cover Specialists.

Issue #8 - Broken sensor magnet (14 months old)

Details

Magnet sensor responsibility for causing the cover to stop when the cover is opened nearly all the way is stitched inside the webbing. The webbing tore and the magnets fell out, causing the cover to open until it was forced to stop at the end which put unnecessary stress on other parts of the cover system every time the cover is closed.

Response

Pool Cover Specialists do not repair and instead just removed the sensor system.

Issue #7 - Torn webbing (17 months old)

Details

Webbing attaching cover to track became frayed, and then completely ripped.

Response

Pool Cover Specialists initially absolute refused to repair. Only after weeks of back and forth and threats of lawsuit did Pool Cover Specialists finally agree to repair cover. We were without a cover for a full 5 weeks from the time the webbing ripped.

Issue #6 - Cover Rubbing on Bench (17 months old)

Details

A service technician from Pool Cover Specialists (who was not the original installer) stated that the bench has been incorrectly installed and therefore the cover was rubbing up against it when in the rolled up position.

Response

Pool Cover Specialists stated they moved it, but doesn't appear to have been moved (back of bench was already at the end of the cement).

Issue #99 Grinding Noise in track (2nd time) (20 months old)

Details

Exact same issue #5, this is the second occurrence. The pulley system had already been replaced so it was less than a year old.

Response

Pool Cover Specialists offered to pay for parts but not labor.
